Istanbul is one of the rare cities in the world that bridges Europe and Asia. From a Bosphorus cruise to a trip to the Princes Islands, from the Pierre Loti hilltop to the Belgrade Forest, from the Şile coastline to a country breakfast in Polonezköy — having your own car makes all the difference when truly experiencing Istanbul. SAW Rent A Car, with terminal pickup at Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) and a Pendik city centre branch, is the closest car rental operator to you on Istanbul's Asian side.

Sabiha Gökçen Airport (code: SAW) is the main gateway on Istanbul's Asian side. Pegasus, AnadoluJet and many charter flights operate from here. SAW Rent A Car — whose very name references this airport — offers terminal gate meet-and-greet service at Sabiha Gökçen.
Sabiha Gökçen pickup process:
Sabiha Gökçen is open 7/24. We do not charge extra for night flights (landings between 00:00 — 06:00). If your flight is delayed, we track it; no extra waiting fee is charged.

Istanbul Airport (code: IST) is the new main airport on the European side. Turkish Airlines is the primary carrier. SAW Rent A Car offers the option of picking up a vehicle from Pendik or Sabiha Gökçen and driving to IST; direct terminal pickup at IST is also available upon reservation request.

Our Pendik branch is 8 km from Sabiha Gökçen Airport, on the main arterials of the Asian side. It is the ideal starting point for those catching an early morning flight; you can pick up the vehicle the evening before and park it in our free car park. The Pendik city centre offers 15 — 25% lower prices compared to airport premium rates.
Advantages of the Pendik branch:

The right car depends on where you are going in Istanbul. Our recommendations as the SAW Rent A Car team:
Bosphorus tour (Ortaköy, Bebek, Tarabya): A sedan or compact is sufficient. Parking is scarce, so a smaller car is an advantage. Avoid this route on weekends (heavy traffic).
Şile — Ağva (Black Sea coast): Sedan or small SUV. 100 km motorway + 20 km country road. An ideal weekend breakfast getaway.
Polonezköy — Riva: Hatchback or compact is enough. 45 min from Sabiha Gökçen. Village breakfast + nature.
Princes Islands (Büyükada, Heybeliada): Cars not permitted — ferry only. You can park at Bostancı or Kartal piers.
Thrace exit (Edirne, Tekirdağ): Sedan or SUV recommended. Get an HGS briefing for motorway use; HGS is active in all SAW Rent A Car vehicles.
Sapanca — Maşukiye day trip: SUV or sedan. 130 km motorway. Gets busy on summer weekends; head out early in the morning.
